YEREVAN, October 28, /ARKA/. Twenty-one Armenian commercial banks were among 1000 biggest taxpayers in the first nine months of 2009, paying a total of 13.6 billion Drams.

According to the State Revenue Committee, 92.4% of all taxes (12.5 billion Drams) paid by commercial banks were direct taxes (income and profit taxes). Overall they accounted only for 5% of all taxes paid in January-September by the country’s 1000 biggest taxpayers.
The biggest taxpayer was Ardshininvestbank-1.98 billion Drams. It was on the 16-th position. It was followed by ACBA Agricole Bank (1.9 billion Drams, 17-th position), Bank VTB (1.8 billion, 20-th position), HSBC Bank Armenia (1.7 billion Drams, 21-st position), Unibank (1.16 billion Drams, 38-th position), Converse Bank (845.9 million Drams, 51-st position), Ameriabank (715.9 million Drams, 64-th position), Inecobank (518.6 million Drams, 80-th position) and Armbusinessbank (486.1 million Drams, 86-th position).
Overall 1000 biggest taxpayers paid 270.5 billion Drams in taxes in Jan.-September. There are 22 commercial banks in Armenia and 27 credit organizations. The head office of Artsakh bank is in Nagorno-Karabakh Republic. ($1 – 385.08 position.  -0-
