Capital of banks of Armenia made 258.3 billion drams

YEREVAN, October 29. /ARKA/. Total capital of banks in Armenia was increased by 8.5 billion drams or by 3.4% in the third quarter of 2009 and made 258.3 billion drams as of September 30, 2009.

According to the information of the Central Bank of Armenia actually recruited charter capital of banking sector of Armenia was increased by 7.3% (or by 12.2 billion drams) and made 179.8 billion drams in the third quarter of 2009. Participation of non-residents in the capital of Armenian banks was increased by 10.6 billion drams in the reporting period and made about 118.2 billion drams. In fact, non-residents received 65.7% of the charter capital of banking system of Armenia versus 64.2% at the beginning of reporting period of the quarter.

As of September 30, 2009 the amount of general reserve in the capital of banks is not changed and made 8.2 billion drams. The volume of non-recruited income on the account of the capital of commercial banks was 58.4 billion drams at the end of September 2009 versus 62.9 billion drams at the beginning of the quarter. The income of the current period was about 454 million drams.

According to the data of news agency “ARKA”, by the volume of total capital in the group of five of the leaders of banking sector of Armenia AGBA-Credit Agricole Bank (29.2 billion drams), Ardshininvestbank (26.7 billion drams), VTB Bank (Armenia) (22.6 billion drams), Ameriabank (21.3 billion drams) and HSBC Bank Armenia (16.5 billion drams) are included. By the size of the charter capital (with emission income) the leader is Ameriabank (18.2 billion drams), AGBA-Credit Agricole Bank (15.6 billion drams), Ardshininvestbank (15.5 billion drams), “Bank Anelik” (14.3 billion drams), VTB Bank (Armenia) (13.9 billion drams). As of September 30, 2009, 22 banks and 383 branches were operating in Armenia ($1 – 385.29 drams).  --0—
