Non-cash pays through Central Bank of Armenia reduce 27% to AMD 2.696 billion

YEREVAN, March 9. /ARKA/. Non-cash pays carried out through the Central Bank of Armenia reduced 27% or by AMD 989 billion in the fourth quarter 2009, compared with the 3rd Q 2009, to AMD 2.696 billion, the Central Bank says.

Some 832,652 pays were operated through the central bank’s payment systems over the fourth quarter 2009.

This result is 16% greater than that of the 3rd Q.

The number of non-cash pays rose by19% or 130,376, but the amount of the pays reduced 19% or by AMD 254 billion.

An average daily transfers through the central bank’s payment systems, excluding stock exchange activity, amounted to AMD 42 billion in the 4th quarter 2009 after reducing by AMD 15.4 billion, compared with the previous year, while the average daily number of deals grew by 1,835 to 13,010.

Money transfers connected with stock exchange reached AMD 144 billion in the 4th Q 2009 after growing 6.5%, compared with the previous year.

Non-cash pays through Armenian banks totaled AMD 3629 billion in the 4th Q, and their number was 2041189. ($1 = AMD 385.68). —0—
