Armenian dram alley may appear in Yerevan

YERVAN, July 22. /ARKA/. An alley dedicated to the Armenian national currency may appear in Yerevan, Karen Komendaryan, designer and author of the dram symbols, said on Friday.
“I’ve submitted my proposal to the president, the prime minister and other high-ranking officials, and they welcomed this idea,” he said. “The municipality will consider the matter soon.”
The place of this alley is thought to be chosen in the center of Yerevan, near the Central Bank of Armenia.
“I propose to put coins issued by the central bank to commemorate our famous persons or historical events on this alley,” Komendaryan said.
He said that not a single country has similar alley.-0—
