Outstanding credit portfolio of Armenian banks increase by 2.9% to 1.179.3 trillion drams

YEREVAN, October 27. / ARKA /. The outstanding credit portfolio of Armenian commercial banks increased by 2.9% in September as opposed to August to a total of 1.179.3 trillion drams, according to a statement posted on the Central Bank of Armenia official website.

Loans provided in foreign currency to resident customers accounted for 56.8% of the overall portfolio, standing at 674.5 billion drams, by 2.9% higher than in August.

Loans provided to residents in drams made 38.8% or 457.9 billion drams, having grown by 2.8% from August.

According to the Central Bank, the volume of loans provided to non-residents in drams stood at the end of September at 11.4 billion drams, having increased by 32% from August and loans in foreign currency stood at about 40 billion drams, dropping by 1.4% from August. ($1 – 378.01 AMD).-0-
