Average interest rate on short-term loans drop by 0.42 percentage points in December

YEREVAN, February 8. /ARKA/. The average interest rate on short-term loans in Armenia’s national currency, the dram, granted in December by Armenian commercial banks dropped by 0.42 percentage points from the previous month to 17.69%, according to the National Statistical Service (NSS).

At the same time, the average interest rate on deposits attracted by commercial banks in December increased by an average of 1.1 percentage points to 10.29%. According to NSS data, the total amount of loans issued by commercial banks in December increased by 6.2% from November to overall 1.3 trillion drams. The total amount of deposits kept by banks in December amounted to about 970 billion drams, having increased by 4.9% from November. There are 21 banks in Armenia. ($ 1 – 388.11 drams). -0-
