YEREVAN, May 16. /ARKA/. In 2019, bank deposits attracted from non-residents increased by 48% or by 337 billion drams and amounted to about 1 trillion drams, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said Saturday while presenting at an online press conference 100 facts about the new Armenia.
"This trend, on the one hand, is in tune with the global practice of channeling capital from markets with low interest rates to high interest markets, and on the other hand, confirms the strengthening of confidence of foreign business entities in Armenia also in the financial system," he said.
In his words, loans provided to non-residents increased by 3% or 7 billion drams and amounted to 245 billion drams.
"This point is that foreign organizations and individuals trust the banking system of Armenia more, invest deposits, expand their activities in the country and take loans," Pashinyan added. ($ 1 – AMD 487.89). -0-
