YEREVAN, September 9. /ARKA/. In the second quarter of 2021, mobile banking Trojans attacked 0.03% of users in Armenia, as many in Azerbaijan, and 0.2% in Georgia, according to Kaspersky Lab.

In the second quarter of 2020, 0.07% of users in Armenia were attacked by mobile banking Trojans, while, in Georgia and Azerbaijan 0.04% of mobile device owners faced such attacks.

According to the Kaspersky Lab, in April-June 2021 some 1.62% of users in Japan were attacked by mobile Trojans, the highest number in the world. Japan was followed by Spain (0.76%) and France (0.71%).

In the second quarter of 2021, the company's solutions detected 24,604 installation packages for mobile banking Trojans, by 710 less than in the first quarter of 2021 and by 16,801 less than in the second quarter of 2020.

Experts note that cybercriminals infect mobile devices with banking Trojans to intercept bank card data and user applications. The already installed malware blocks the interface of the banking application with its own, and the banking data entered into the Trojan interface are transmitted to cybercriminals. They also pave the way for the victim's money by means of those mobile banking Trojans that intercept SMS with confirmation codes sent to clients by banks.

Mobile users should not transfer personal and banking data to anyone on the Internet, especially to those who "ask" to do so in response to "lucrative" offers.

Also, users should not download programs from unofficial sources, since banking Trojans are often downloaded in a package with other programs hosted on such sites. And to protect against any Trojans and other malware, users need to install a reliable antivirus on their mobile devices, which will prevent their installation and visiting malicious sites. -0-
