YEREVAN, April 6. /ARKA/. The overall lending provided by Armenia-based commercial banks stood at 4.02 trillion drams in late February 2022, up from 4 trillion drams in late January, 2022, according to the National Statistical Committee.

The volume of delayed loans stood at 225.2 million drams (5.6% of the total), down from about 234.5 million drams in late January, while the volume of overdue loans stood at about 13.7 million drams (0.34%), up from 13.5 million drams in January.

Loans provided in foreign currency  were worth about 1.67 trillion drams (41.49% of the total), up from 1.63 trillion drams in late January, while the volume of loans in Armenian drams stood at about 2.11 trillion drams (52.57% of the total), up from about 2.1 trillion drams in late January.

The volume of loans (including factoring, leasing operations and repo agreements) issued by banks to non-residents by the end of February totaled 198.4 man drams against 194.3 mln drams in late January; the volume of loans provided to residents stood at about 3.86 trillion drams against 3.81 trillion drams in January.

The volume of loans in drams provided to residents stood at about 2.16 trillion against about 2.15 trillion drams in January, and the volume of loans provided in foreign currency was worth 1.70 trillion drams against 1.66 trillion drams in January.

The volume of loans issued by credit organizations at the end of February totaled 301.4 billion drams against 320.4 billion drams in January. The amount of loans provided to non-residents totaled 12.8 mln drams against 21.8 mln drams in January, while the volume of loans provided to residents totaled some 288.6 bln drams against 298.6 billion in January.

The volume of loans in drams provided to residents amounted to nearly 190 billion drams against 186.6 billion drams in January, and the volume of loans in foreign currency amounted to the equivalent of 98.6 billion drams against nearly 112 billion drams in January.

In February, the average rate on loans provided by the commercial banks was 12.22% (12.14% in January). -0-
