Armenian parliament considering new 26.5 million euro loan with IBRD

YEREVAN, September 12. /ARKA/. The Armenian National Assembly is discussing today a new loan agreement with the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD, a World Bank division).

Deputy Chairman of the State Revenue Committee Ashot Muradyan told the lawmakers that the €26.5mln loan is to be spent on improvement of public administration system, digitalization of services provided to citizens and introduction of electronic administration systems.

Specifically, he said that they plan to develop an application that would be used by citizens and entrepreneurs to pay taxes.

As regards the loan repayments, Muradyan said that the principals amount will be repaid twice a year starting from 2036 - on February 15 and August 15. Until 2036, the government will be paying only interest. --0--
