Armenian banks paid 60.2bln of taxes in 2022

YEREVAN, January 25. /ARKA/. Sixteen out of 18 Armenia-based commercial banks were in the list of 1000 largest corporate taxpayers in 2022 having paid a total of 60.2bln drams in various taxes, according to the State Revenue Committee.

Of that amount 59.6 billion drams were collected by tax authorities and about 516 million drams by customs bodies.

According to the State Revenue Committee, 21.1 billion drams were paid as profit taxes, over 30bln drams as personal income taxes, 2.8bln as VAT and 6.2 billion drams as other taxes and duties.

The leading bank in terms of paid taxes was Ameriabank - about 8.2bln drams (24th in the list of 1000 largest taxpayers)). It was followed by ACBA bank - 7.4bln drams (28th), Ardshinbank - 7.3bln drams (29th), Inecobank - 5.2bln drams (50th) and Armbusinessbank - 4.9bln drams (52nd).

Conversebank paid about 3.9 bln drams (73rd), VTB Bank (Armenia) - about 3.5 bln drams (80th), ArmSwissbank - about 3.73 bln drams (83rd) and Armeconombank - about 3.29 bln drams (84th). All these banks were among 100 largest taxpayers.

Unibank paid  about 2.58 bln drams (107th), IDBank - about 2.56 bln drams (109th), Araratbank - about  2.5 bln drams (112th), HSBC Bank Armenia - about 2.2 bln drams (119th) , Evocabank - about 1.5 bln drams (170th), Mellat Bank - about 807 mln drams (319th) and Byblos Bank Armenia -  803.5 mln drams (320th). The Central Bank of Armenia paid about 1.8 billion drams in taxes.

Artsakhbank (central branch), which used to be among the top 1000 taxpayers in Armenia until 2021 is not listed in the 2022 report. In 2021 Artsakhbank (central branch) paid about 232.7mln drams and was 888th by size of paid taxes.

According to the official data, in 2022 Armenia's 1000 largest taxpayers paid 1 trillion 490 billion drams in taxes. ($1 - 396.40 drams) -0-
