YEREVAN, 27 June. /ARKA/. The Eurasian Development Bank (EDB) forecasts inflation in Armenia at around 1.5 per cent by the end of 2024 after 0.6 per cent in 2023, the bank's analysts said in their latest macro review.
"Growing domestic demand driven by high levels of lending and household savings, investment, as well as stimulative fiscal policy and easing monetary conditions will form upward pressure on prices in the second half of the year," the macro outlook said.
Earlier, Central Bank Governor Martin Galstyan said that inflation in Armenia will be in the range of 1.5-1.7 per cent by the end of 2024.
The state budget for 2024 envisages inflation at 4 per cent (±1.5 per cent). The WB expects inflation in Armenia to be 3 per cent in 2024, 3.5 per cent in 2025 and 4 per cent in 2026.
The IMF forecasts that prices in Armenia will rise by 3.1 per cent in 2024 and 3.7 per cent in 2025.-0-
