Yerevan hosts children's book festival supported by VTB Armenia

YEREVAN, August 28. /ARKA/. The children's book festival "Newmag Back To School" was held in Yerevan with the support of VTB Armenia.

During the event, three new children's books from the "Yeraz" series, published by Newmag, were presented. VTB Armenia also served as the financial partner for the first Armenian edition of The Adventures of Elektronik, a 1964 children’s novel by Russian author Yevgeny Veltistov.

The festival took place on August 24th at Yeraz Park in Yerevan and featured a musical show, educational games, a fashion show of school uniforms, and festive refreshments. Young readers were introduced to three new books of world children's literature translated into Armenian, including the first Armenian edition of The Adventures of Elektronik.

"VTB Armenia annually supports significant cultural and educational projects in the country. It's essential to instill a love for reading from an early age, not by forcing children to read but by teaching them to love books. Literature plays a crucial role in shaping a person, and we're glad to have contributed to the 'Newmag Back To School' project, which is a meaningful event for young book lovers," commented Ara Avagyan, CEO and Chairman of the Directorate of VTB Armenia.

Artyom Aleksanyan, the director of Newmag publishing house, added, "The modern world offers many ways to access information in various formats, with the internet becoming increasingly popular, especially among the younger generation. The printed book is gradually losing its popularity. We not only carefully select books for the younger generation but also meticulously design and illustrate them to capture readers' attention and interest. The Adventures of Elektronik is a prime example of a book that has shaped multiple generations."
