YEREVAN, September 5. /ARKA/. Armenia's total public debt as of July 31, 2024 stood at over $12.3 billion, an increase of $178.2 million from June 30, 2024, according to the National Statistical Committee.
On December 31, 2023, the country's public debt stood at over $11.8 billion.
Of the total debt, over $6.2 billion was external debt (an increase of $10.7 million from the previous month), while domestic debt increased by $167.5 million to over $6 billion.
The government debt increased by $6 million to over $5.7 billion at the end of July 2024. The Central Bank's debt increased by about $4.7 million to about $512.7 million.
Of the domestic debt, over $5.5 billion (an increase of $167) were owned to resident holders of government treasury bonds . Resident- held government bonds in foreign currency stood at $555.9 million with an increase of $570,000, while internal guarantees stood at $17.7 million with a decrease of $117,000 million. -0-
