Payment card transactions in Armenia grow 8.6% to AMD 108.6 billion

YEREVAN, May 7. /ARKA/. Some 2,308,083 transactions totaling AMD 108.6 billion were made in Armenia by using payment cards issued by Armenian and foreign banks in March 2015, the Central Bank of Armenia reports in a fresh issue of its monthly bulletin.
The amount grew 8.6%, compared with the previous month, and the number of transactions grew 9.1%.
The amount of Internet transactions carried out by using payment cards issued in Armenia and abroad grew 8.9% to AMD 3.8 billion and their number rose 9.8% to 179,445.
Some 1,820,959 transactions totaling AMD 82.7 billion were made through ATMs in March 2015 – 8.1% growth and 7.9% growth respectively.
