Serzh Sargsyan’s chief of staff relieved of his post

YEREVAN, September 9. / ARKA /. Karen Karapetian, chief of Armenian president Serzh Sargsyan’s staff, was relieved today of his post, Sargsyan’s press service told ARKA. According to an official statement, Karapetian himself asked to be relieved of his job. During a meeting with his staff today, the president tanked Karen Karapetian for cooperation and wished him luck in his future endeavors.

In turn, Karapetian expressed his gratitude to Serzh Sargsyan for trusting him during his three-year tenure.

Karen Karapetian was born on March 2, 1961, in the village of Gharakilisa in Armenia. In 1982 he graduated from Yerevan Polytechnic Institute with a degree of engineer. He was elected to Armenian parliament three times in 1995 - 2007. In 2008 September he was appointed chief of presidential staff.
