YEREVAN, November 11. /ARKA/. In the third quarter of this year average bank per employee profit amounted to 3.278 million drams (about $8,800), according to an analysis of banks’ interim financial reports for the third quarter of 2011. In fact, during the reporting period the monthly per employee profit was 1.093 million drams (about $2,938).
The per employee assets were equal to 195.3 million drams, or about $525,000. As of September 30, some 21 commercial banks operating in Armenia had on their payrolls 9,672 people, whose combined profit in the third quarter of 2011 was 31.704.3 billion drams (about $85.2 million). At the end of the third quarter the largest per employee profit of 47.2 million drams ($ 126,900) was reported by Bank Mellat. The monthly per employee profit was 15.7 million drams ($42,300).
An employee of this bank handled 1.085 billion drams ($2.918 million) worth assets, which is the largest figure among the banks in Armenia. HSBC Bank Armenia was second during the reporting period. In the third quarter its per employee profit was 12.158 million drams, an equivalent of $32,700. The monthly income was 4.052 million drams or $10,900. Third was Ameriabank with 7.444 million drams per employee ($20,000). The monthly per employee profit was 2.481 million (about $6,700). The list of leaders included also ArmSwissbank (5.637 million drams or $15,100), Bank Prometey (5.243 million drams, or about $14,100). In all, 18 banks had a per employee profit of more than 1 million drams and 3 banks had one million drams per employee profit in Q 3. . ($1 - 383.73 AMD). -0-
