YEREVAN, June 12. / ARKA /. The French Development Agency has provided Armenia with a 500 thousand euro grant for preparation of a number of infrastructure projects, the press service of the Armenian ministry of finance said. The agreement was signed Wednesday by Armenian finance minister David Sargsyan and French ambassador to Armenia Henri Reynaud.

Specifically, approximately 300,000 euros will be used to finance a complete study of the irrigation systems in Ararat Valley as part of a broader project for construction of a water reservoir in Vedi. About 100,000 euros will be used for a comprehensive study of community development programs included in the tourist center Tatev.

The minister said the rest of the money is very likely to be spent on conduct of a research to gauge chances for working out a national program for the management of solid waste, as well as providing assistance in the implementation of a program in the field of water management.
