YEREVAN, October 15. / ARKA /. Members of the Russian parliament from the Liberal Democratic Party , headed by a parliament vice -speaker Igor Lebedev have asked prime minister Dmitry Medvedev to consider the possibility of imposing a moratorium on remittances by labor migrants to their home countries, RIA Novosti reported citing an MP Yaroslav Nilov.

"We propose that a temporary moratorium be imposed on remittances by labor migrants to their home countries. We believe this will create a financial instrument to force labor migrants to leave our country. Subsequently we should establish a tough control on their entry into the Russian Federation", said Nilov.

In their letter to Medvedev the lawmakers ask the prime minister to consider the possibility of " a temporary moratorium on money transfers to a number of countries by all natural and legal persons from Russia’s territories to physical persons in other countries."
