YEREVAN, November 30. /ARKA/. The Central Bank of Armenia (CBA) said today its overall reserves grew by 12.2% (113.2 million drams) in the first nine months of 2012 to 1.037 trillion drams.
It reported also a 7% rise in its foreign currency reserves (an equivalent of 51.5 billion drams) to 781.1 billion drams. Foreign currency reserves accounted for 75.3% of the overall reserves, down from 79% at the beginning of the year. Liabilities in foreign currency towards financial institutions were said to have grown by 20.8% or 32.8 billion drams to 190.9 billion drams in dram equivalent.
Foreign currency reserves placed at the International Monetary Fund dropped to 59.2 billion drams from 63.7 billion drams at the beginning of the year. The amount of foreign currency reserves earmarked for sale did not change standing at 917,000 drams. The volume of in hand foreign currency dropped to 7.1 billion drams from 7.5 billion at the beginning of the year.
