Armenian PM, EDB chief discuss development of cooperation

YEREVAN, September 7. /ARKA/. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan received September 6 the Chairman of the Management Board of the Eurasian Development Bank (EDB) Nikolay Podguzov and the delegation led by him, the government press office reported.
It said the Prime Minister highlighted the development of the EDB-Armenia partnership, noting that after the early parliamentary elections, the Armenian Government has outlined ambitious programs, attaching importance to the partnership with international partners, including the EDB, for their implementation.
Nikol Pashinyan considered the cooperation in the spheres of road construction and infrastructure, as well as in other mutually beneficial directions as promising. The Prime Minister also praised the support provided by the EDB to Armenia for overcoming the consequences of the coronavirus pandemic and emphasized the role of the Bank in the development of the EAEU integration.
Nikolay Podguzov, in his turn, noted that the EDB highlights the partnership with Armenia and intends to further expand its activities in our country. The Chairman of the EDB Management Board considered interesting the joint programs infrastructure improvement, digitalization, financial spheres, as well as the large integration projects within the EAEU. He thanked Armenia for joining the "I travel without COVID-19" program, which is a successful example of Armenian-Russian platform cooperation (now 10 countries have joined the program), and stressed that Armenia's digital platform can serve as a basis for the development of digital technologies in the EAEU.
The interlocutors exchanged views on concrete steps to be taken to develop cooperation in the mutually mentioned spheres, and an agreement was reached to continue the active dialogue in that direction. -0-
