YEREVAN, February 9, /ARKA/. A total of $1.627.1 billion were remitted to Armenia by individuals in 2010 through the banking system, the Central Bank of Armenia (CBA) says in its monthly bulletin for December 2010, posted on its official website. According to the bulletin, the amount of individual non-commercial remittances last year rose by 3.3% or $51.4 million from 2009.
The volume of remittances from Armenia to other countries via banks in 2010 dropped by 2.8% from 2009 to $731. 6 million ($752.4 million in 2009). The net inflow of remittances in 2010 was $895.5 million, 8.8% up from $823.3 million in 2009. Russia as usual accounted for the largest portion of remittances to Armenia -$942.1 million.
