YEREVAN, August 5. /ARKA/. Armenia faced 7.3% inflation in the first half of this year, compared with the same period a year earlier, the Statistical Committee of the Commonwealth of Independent States reports.
This is one of the highest indicators among CIS countries. Year-on-year price rise in CIS countries averaged 7% in Jan-June 2010.
According to the statistical report, prices in Armenia went 0.8% down in June, compared with May.
All CIS countries faced inflation in Jan-June 2010. Ukraine suffered the highest price rise – 9.8%.
Kazakhstan, with its 7.1% increase, follows Ukraine.
