Areximbank hands over one-time stipends to 25 winners of second competition

YEREVAN, July 15. /ARKA/ The Russian-owned Areximbank-Gazprombank Group held a special ceremony today to hand over one-time stipends to 25 winners of the second competition announced for Armenian students.

The amount of one-time stipend is from 40, 000 to 300, 000 drams. Nine students were awarded 40,000 dram stipend each, three students received 60,000 drams each, five students -100,000 drams, two -120,000 drams, one received-150,000 drams and another one received 200,000 drams. The main prize of 300,000 drams was handed over to Tigran Hakobian, a third-year student of Yerevan State University.

The bank had received over 500 electronic applications from students majoring both at state-run and private universities. The 25 winners had been selected by a scoring system and by a special commission in several categories like excellent academic progress, public activity and social status. The competition was announced on March 9 and ran through April 30 for fifth –year students as well as for second-fourth year bachelors and students seeking master’s degree from state-run and private universities.

Areximbank-Gazprombank Group said today it has short-listed 30 participants of the second competition announced for Armenian students wishing to win one of its one-time stipends.
