Armenian banks' total capital grows by 5.6% in first half of 2020

YEREVAN, August 10. /ARKA/. The total capital of 17 commercial banks operating in Armenia grew by 5.6% in the first half of 2020 or 47 billion drams to 891 billion drams, Executive Director of the Union of Banks of Armenia (UBA) Seyran Sargsyan said at a press conference on Monday.
“This is a very important indicator, because the amount of capital characterizes a banking sector, its abilities and capabilities to overcome crisis and stress situations. We see that during the reporting period, the growth rate has been retained,” he said.
