YEREVAN, June 29. /ARKA/. Armenia-based commercial banks have set a new record in deposits volume, which have surged to over AMD 5.5 trillion, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said at a governmental session on Thursday.

"I should record very important indicators regarding our banking sector: the total deposit portfolio in Armenian banks in May 2023 amounted to 5 trillion 547 billion 288 million drams, which is a record for Armenia. In April 2023 compared to March the deposits grew by 12 billion 841 million drams," Pashinyan said.  

He noted that the deposit portfolio in Armenian banks almost doubled between 2018 and 2023, by nearly 2.5 trillion drams, or 96.7%. ($1 - 386.53 drams). --0--
