Armenia's total state debt exceeded $11.1 billion in the first half of the year.

YEREVAN, August 8. /ARKA/. Armenia's total state debt as of June 30, 2023, amounted to $11,103.939, 000, having increased by $77.4 million from May 31, 2023, according to the National Statistical Committee (NSC). On December 31, 2022, the state debt stood at $10,637,664,000  

As of June 30, 2023, in AMD the state debt was worth 4,289,673,700, 000, having increased by 27,699,400,000 from the previous month. On December 31, 2022, the state debt was worth 4,186,665,300,000 drams.

Out of the total debt $6,438,057,000 was the external debt (an increase of $28,944,000 from the previous month), while the domestic debt in June increased by $48,465,000 to $4,665,882,000.

In AMD equivalent, the external debt decreased by 9,899,800,000 drams to 2,487,150,200,000 drams, while the domestic debt increased by 17,799,600,000 drams to 1,802,523,500,000.

Of the total external debt the government’s debt increased by $38,763,000 to $5,893,156,000 by the end of June 2023.

At the same time, in AMD equivalent the government debt decreased by 13,804,100,000 to 2,276,644,100,000 drams.

The debt of the Central Bank decreased by $9,819,000 to $544,901,000. In AMD equivalent, the debt of the Central Bank decreased by 3,904,300,000 to 210,506,100,000 drams.

Of the domestic debt $4,078,517,000 (up by $31,827,000) were owned to resident holders of government treasury bonds and $568,694,000 were owed to resident holders of government euro bonds (up by $18,205,000). Also, $18,671,000 were government provided guarantees (down by $1,567,000).  -0-
