YEREVAN, November 7. /ARKA/. The Sky Agro Company is the first in Armenia to start using unmanned aerial vehicles or agro-drones in agriculture.

Compared to traditional spraying, the preparation (herbicides, pesticides, insecticides or liquid fertilizers) "settles" in the form of powder on the branches of agricultural crops with the help of wind created by agrodrones and is able to reach even the densest areas. This method is effective, saves time and ensures accurate dosage of the preparation.

Sky Agro's partner is the Acba Federation, which promotes innovative agriculture in Armenia and makes the industry attractive for young people, Acba Bank's press service reported.

"The use of agrodrones, unlike tractors, does not trample crops. We carry out low-volume spraying: we can treat and fertilize 1.5 hectares of land in about 15 minutes. The device sprays very small drops, which increases the efficiency of the process by about 25% and saves medicinal fertilizers. This technology is very good for Armenia, as our terrain allows these devices to work perfectly. We started working with Acba Federation last year: it was a fellowship program for start-up entrepreneurs. We have embarked on several important projects; we are trying to make agriculture attractive for schoolchildren of graduating classes. Acba Federation is one of our partners, together with whom we realize all this," said Mihran Sahakyan, co-founder of Sky Agro.

The Sky Agro team is developing precision agriculture in Armenia, which will help farmers get more crops and income while using minimal fertilizers.
