Credit portfolios of Armenia's banks increased by 18.6% in 2023 to about AMD 5 trillion.

YEREVAN, January 22 /ARKA/. The credit portfolios of Armenia-based  18 commercial banks increased by 18.6% or AMD 777 bln in 2023 to  about AMD 5 trillion.

According to ARKA news agency's ranking, Ameriabank was the leading banks by size of credit portfolio, which amounted to AMD 985 bln (33.9% growth from 2022).

In the second position was Ardshinbank, whose credit portfolio amounted to AMD 672 bln (26.4% growth).

In the third position was AMIO Bank, whose credit portfolio amounted to 498 billion drams (0.05% decrease).

The total assets of the banks amounted to about AMD 9.2 trillion (9.5% growth as compared to December 31, 2022), while the volume of lending amounted to AMD over 4.9 trillion, increasing by 18.6%.

Total liabilities as of December 31, 2023 stood at over AMD 7.7 trillion, increasing by 8.78%.

The liabilities to customers increased by 8․76% or by 443.2 billion drams to over AMD 5.5 trillion․

The banks' capital amounted to about AMD 1.5 trillion, increasing by 176.4 billion drams or 13.5% compared to the previous year. ($1 - 405.42 drams). --0-
