YEREVAN, March 20. /ARKA/. The Armenian Parliament on Wednesday approved a loan agreement signed with the Asian Development Bank (ADB) under which 46 schools with enhanced seismic safety will be renovated and built in the country by 2027.

This program has been in place since 2015 under a loan agreement between the Armenian government and the Asian Development Bank.

The total budget of the program is $107 million, of which $88.5 million are loan funds and $18.5 million are the  co-financing from the government. 

The main point of the program is to build or strengthen at least 46 schools and provide safe conditions for education of 22.5 thousand pupils.

There are also plans to revise seismic building codes, create guidelines for earthquake-resistant construction and a number of other tasks. --0--
