YEREVAN, December 24. /ARKA/. The Dow hit 18,000 after the latest reading on the U.S. economy put growth at an 11-year high, FOX Business reported on Tuesday.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average (DJI) climbed 64.7 points, or 0.4%, to 18024. The S&P 500 (GSPC) rose 3.6 points, or 0.2%, to 2082. The Nasdaq (IXIC) was down 16 points, or 0.3%, at 4765.
The Dow registered a new milestone by trading above 18,000 points for the first time in history. It was the blue-chip index’s 36th record close of the year, while the S&P set its 51st all-time high.
