YEREVAN, February 8. /ARKA/. According to the National Statistical Committee of Armenia, the average market exchange rate of the USD against the Armenian national currency in 2020 was 489.01 drams.

In 2020 December it grew to 518.91 drams, up from 482.32 drams in the first quarter. In the  2nd quarter the USD traded at 484.68 drams, in the 3rd quarter - at 485.61 drams and in the 4th quarter - at 503.43 drams.

The highest exchange rate was registered on December 15, when the greenback traded at 525.09 drams, and the lowest rate in December was 506.98 drams.

At the end of 2020, the Armenian dram broke several barriers at once. In particular, on November 19, 2020, the USD traded at 500.82 drams. The last time such a rate was recorded in March 2020. After that, the USD rose again above 525 drams in mid-December 2020.

The central bank at the end of 2020 sold $60 million to stabilize the exchange rate of the dram.

On February 5, 2021, the average market exchange rate of the US dollar against the Armenian dram grew by 0.53 drams from the previous day to 521.13 drams. -0-
