YEREVAN, August 29. /ARKA/. Sixteen Armenia-based commercial banks paid a total of 32.9 billion drams in various taxes in the first half of 2022, by 2.8 billion drams or 9.4% more than in the same time span in 2021, according to the Union of Armenian Banks (UAB).
The direct taxes increased by 2.8 bln drams or 11% to about 28.7 bln drams. A commercial bank paid on average 2.1 billion drams in taxes which was three times more than the average amount of taxes paid by other corporate organizations.
The average profit and income taxes paid by a bank was about 1.8 billion drams - 8 times higher than the same figure of other organizations.
The list of 1000 largest corporate taxpayers, compiled quarterly by the State Revenue Committee, includes 16 commercial banks. The only bank that was not in it is Artsakhbank.
Of all taxes paid by the banks, 32.7 billion drams were collected by tax authorities and about 211.4mln drams by customs authorities.
In the first half of 2022 the 1000 largest taxpayers paid more than 722bln 325 million drams in taxes. ($1 - 404.82 drams) -0-
