YEREVAN, September 29. /ARKA/. Yerevan Mayor Hrachya Sargsyan and Paolo Spantigatti, Asian Development Bank (ADB) Armenia Country Director, discussed today ways to expand cooperation framework.
The Municipality said the two men spoke, in particular, about a project designed to reconstruct a bus terminal in Jrvezh neighborhood, where a natural gas and diesel refueling stations, a bus washing point are to be built.
The Yerevan community is also considering the construction of a new depot to service the new buses, an alternative road to the airport, and how to relieve traffic on Shirak Street.
The mayor expressed his willingness to continue working with ADB, including embracing new sectors of the economy.
In turn, Spantigatti said that the ADB is ready to provide support to the mayor's office through participation in new projects aimed at improving the quality of life in Yerevan.
The Asian Development Bank (ADB) has been working with the Armenian government since 2005. As of April 2022, the total financing package of 74 ADB programs in Armenia was estimated at $1.6 billion in such areas as transport, energy, water sector and infrastructure, public sector management and others. --0-
