YEREVAN, January 30, /ARKA/. Individual remittances from Russia to Armenia in the first 11 months of 2022 quadrupled from the same time span of 2021 to almost $3.1 billion, Russian news site RBC.RU reported. They accounted for just over two-thirds of total remittance inflows to Armenia.

This is a record-breaking figure since 2004.

A sizeable portion of that money was remitted to Armenia by tens of thousands of Russians who relocated to Armenia after the outbreak of the war in Ukraine and especially after Russia declared partial mobilization.

Overall, money transfers from Russia to Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Armenia, and Georgia in 2022 were reported at record-breaking levels, several times the figures for 2021.-0-
