Private transfers to Armenia rose to about $164.2mln in June

YEREVAN, August 8. /ARKA/. Private transfers to Armenia through the country’s banking system amounted to about $164.2 million in June, an increase of 2% compared to the same period of 2013, the Central Bank of Armenia says on its website.

The increase in transfers in June was 13.5% compared to the month before.

Transfers from Armenia amounted to about $28.9 million against $25.1 million in the same period of 2013. Net inflow was about $135.3 million in the period compared to $135.8 million in June 2013.

The bulk of transfers to Armenia, about 82%, are from Russia. Money transfers from Russia to Armenia amounted to about $134.8 million in June (4.5% decrease); transfers from Armenia to Russia were $16.4mln (10.6% increase).

According to the Central Bank, transfers to Armenia totaled about $1,869.7 million or about 17.3% of GDP in 2013. ($1=410.26drams). –0--
