Total capital of Armenian banks in Q3 increases by 1% to 343.1 billion drams

YEREVAN, November 11. /ARKA/. The total capital of Armenia-based banks in the third quarter of this year increased by 1% or about 3.4 billion drams to 343.1 billion drams, according to a brief survey of the Central Bank of Armenia about the performance of Armenian banks in the third quarter of 2011.
According to the Central Bank, the authorized capital of the banking system in the third quarter remained unchanged at about 226.4 billion drams. The share of nonresidents in the authorized capital of banks increased by 0.02% to about 164.7 billion drams. In fact, they accounted for 72.7% of the total authorized capital of the banking system.
It follows from the survey that the amount of main reserve in the capital of banks amounted to 17.7 billion drams, having increased during the quarter by 0.4%. At the same time retained profit of banks in January-September 2011 amounted to 24.5 billion drams. There are 21 banks in Armenia. ($1 – 383.73 AMD). -0-
