Armenia singled out for large amounts of money transfers to Russia

YEREVAN, April 17. /ARKA/. The volume of money transfers from the CIS countries to Russia in March grew by 47%, compared with January, TASS reported Friday referring to Izvestia, which presents figures of the Unistream money transfer system.

According to the publication, in transferring funds to Russia, Armenia, Kazakhstan and Tajikistan are singled out for largest amounts. The increase in the number of transfers to Russia is associated with the support of relatives from abroad, the newspaper notes.

Instead, money transfers from Russia to foreign countries in March shrank 11%, compared with the beginning of the year. Most often, money was transferred from Russia to Armenia, Belarus, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, the Czech Republic and Israel.
According to experts polled by Izvestia, the decrease in cash flow from Russia abroad is due to the closure of borders and enterprises, and therefore labor migrants were left without work. -0-
