YEREVAN, November 21. / ARKA /. All plastic cards issued by Armenian commercial banks were used outside the country to make 7.4 billion drams worth transactions in 2014 September, 16.6% down from the previous month, according to Central Bank’s September bulletin.
The number of transactions, however, grew by 7.4 percent to 176,900.
The amount of non-cash transactions made by using cards in September dropped by 20.7 percent from August to about 5.4 billion drams.
The plastic cards were used abroad also to withdraw the equivalent of 2.04 billion drams, 3.6 percent less than in August.
All 21 Armenian based commercial banks issue and service various payment cards. Nineteen of them are members of the unified local payment system ArCa ($ 1 - 417.13 drams). -0-
