YEREVAN, March 24. / ARKA /. Stepan Gishyan, the CEO of ACBA-CREDIT AGRICOLE BANK, who died Saturday at the age of 49, will be buried in Noyemberyan, a small town about 200 km off Yerevan, on March 28, the press service of the bank said.

A memorial service for him will be held on March 27 at 18:00 at 5, Tigranyan Lane in Yerevan.

Gishyan became CEO of the bank in 1996. In 2003 he chaired the board of directors of ACBA Leasing and headed Alliance Francaise d’Armenie in 2006. In 2006-2007 Stepan Gishyan was the chairman of the Union of Banks of Armenia.

Stepan Gishyan made a great contribution to development of agriculture and the banking sector in Armenia, the bank said in a press release.

His efforts brought Armenia-France relations to a new level.

Gishyan was awarded Anania Shirakatsi medal by Armenia’s president in 2001 and received the national order for merits from French president in 2009.

ACBA-CREDIT AGRICOLE BANK was established in 1995 as part of the European Union’s TACIS program. In 2006, CREDIT-AGRICOLE GROUP invested substantially into its capital becoming its largest shareholder. –0--
